REIKI FOR ANIMALS
Animals live with us as our neighbors, co-workers, companions and family members.  They help us forget our worries, give us a reason to get up in the morning and comfort us as we drift off to sleep at night.  As animal guardians, we do everything possible to assure that our companions are healthy, loved and happy.  Complimentary therapyes are becoming much more recognized as important elements for the health and well-being of companion animals as wll as in their treatment for acute or chronic illness and injury.  With Animal Reiki Therapy, we can now give them additional opportunitis for stress reduction, faster recovery from injury or surgery, improved emotional well being and a more balanced lifestyle.
Animals respond intuitively to Reiki's power to support them and to heal emotional and physical illnesses and injuries.  For animals who are healthy, Reiki enhances relaxation and wellbeing and assists them to maintain their health.  For animals who are experiencing illness or injury, Reiki is a powerful yet gentle method to provide comfort and relief from pain.  For animals nearing the endof their earthly life, Reiki hlps to reduce rear and anxiety and to support the animal's transition into spirit.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Animals are most comfortable receiving Reiki in the comfort of their own home, in an area that they are comfortable with and where there will be minimal distractions.  In special circumstances and with the approval of your Veterinarian, Reiki can be provided for your animal at your Veterinarian's office.  Animals are excellent at directing their own Reiki session.  It is not unusual for animals to get up and wander away, and then come back for more during a session.
Some signs that your pet is content receiving Reiki are:
  • Sitting or lying quietly or even going to sleep
  • Yawning
  • Actually moving and positioning themselves so that the practitioner's hands are in the right place for the Reiki to be directed.

Although your pet will choose how much energy he or she will accept and for how long, I recommend that you allow up to an hour for each session so that there is sufficient time for your animal to accept all the energy that he/she is willing to receive.

Benefits of Reiki for Animals

When to Consider Reiki for your Animal

  • Can be used in conjunction with traditional veterinary management.
  • Reduction of stress and anxiety.
  • Enhances circulation & movement and enhance your pet’s natural ability to heal.
  • Animals who receive Reiki before and after surgical procedures often arouse more easily from anesthetic, have less discomfort and have quicker recovery times.
  • Improved symptom management for pets with  acute illness/injury or chronic conditions.

  • If there is a lot of stress in your pet's environment or you anticipate significant changes (even planned/positive changes such as a move or the birth of a new baby) are coming up for your family and your pet, consider Reiki.  Reiki helps animals to be more balanced so that they handle stress or changes in their lives in a positive manner.
  • Competition and working animals benefit by experiencing enhanced circulation and improved mobility.  Regular Reiki sessions can actually enhance the animal's performance.
  • Reiki is highly beneficial if your pet has experienced an injury or requires surgery.  Reiki supports and promotes the body's natural healing ability and can be used before/during/after planned surgical procedures.
  • Chronic health conditions can take a toll on an animal.  Reiki works with traditional veterinary approaches to improve functioning and well being of the animal.
Animals nearing the final states of life benefit greatly from Reiki Therapy.  Reiki supports the animal so that quality of life is enhanced and the final transition is peaceful.
